Palace of Stone by Shannon HaleMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I thought this book complemented the first really well because it played off of what happened in the first book, without replaying the same story in a different setting. In addition, it kept the old characters and developed the relationships they had even further, but also brought new key characters into play. Standing alone, without the first book, I think this book was still enjoyable, but the background information made it even better.
